If you come across a urine spot on the carpet or upholstery, apply a poultice of wet paper or cloth towels on the area to extract the urine. Place a weight on the poultice and wait for ten minutes before removing the poultice and disposing of it in a sealed trash bag.
If the urine is not completely absorbed, reapply the poultice. Once the area is completely dry, you should apply an enzymatic cleaner that is safe to be used on the carpet material. The enzymes will break the protein in the urine traces left behind and eliminate all odor and bacteria, making your carpet or upholstery clean and usable.
